The Virgin London Marathon Sunday 22nd April 2012. Thank you all very much for all your kind support helping me complete my fourth marathon in memory of Shireen for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Yes, I reached my target with the total currently standing at £1211.88 and yes, I managed to finish in less than 5 hours. I had to really push myself one and a half miles from the end when I realised I had just 17 minutes to accomplish the goal I had set myself. So after a little sprint and spotting Persis in the crowds I finished in a time of 4 hours 58 minutes 43 seconds.
It was an amazing day with thousands of people not just running but supporting everyone alone the route. The atmosphere was electric and I was blessed once again to run in nice sunny weather. Only at the end after collecting my medal and wobbling to the meeting point did it rain. There I met up with mum, Naval ‘my banana supply man’, Kevin and Persis.
I must admit today my little legs don’t seem to want to do anything and feel sore. But I have no blisters, very little knee pain and cannot understand why anyone in their right mind would want to run marathons every week.
I still have some promises to come in and you can give via texting if in the UK text DEAN55 £ (your amount) to 70070 or click on my Just Giving or PayPal buttons at the top of the page
Your money has and is helping Breakthrough Breast Cancer saving lives by finding the causes of breast cancer, improving detection, diagnosis, treatment and services. The next generation will live without the fear of breast cancer.
Thank you for your kind support. Dean
